Meet Christine McCarthy
Originally from Canada, Christine McCarthy immigrated to Houston in 1996 to pursue her career as a Registered Nurse, holding licensure in both Canada and the United States. She built her professional foundation in Texas through her own initiative — long before becoming a seasoned international relocation veteran alongside her husband's career with Chevron.
As a Registered Nurse, Christine developed an exacting standard for trust, discretion, and clear communication under pressure — skills that translate directly to guiding clients through one of life's most consequential decisions.
Over the course of her family's relocations, Christine has personally managed five international moves across four continents — to Cameroon, Angola, Thailand, and Western Australia, before repatriating to Houston. From establishing family life in West Africa to settling in Perth and ultimately returning to Texas, she has navigated the logistical, financial, and personal complexity that defines executive relocation. Most recently, she and her family transitioned from their established Spring home into Montrose's inner-loop luxury market, giving her direct perspective on both Houston's premier suburban communities and its most sought-after urban neighborhoods.
Christine's life outside of real estate is defined by service. She and her family have fostered children through DePelchin Children's Center in Houston and through Australia's foster care system during their years in Perth. She remains actively engaged in homeless outreach throughout the Houston community. These experiences inform the discretion, attentiveness, and advocacy she brings to every client relationship.
Together with her sister Lori Tell — CPA, REALTOR®, CLHMS™ Guild, SRS, PSA — Christine co-founded Altura Realty Group to deliver institutional-level expertise and discerning, personal service to Houston's luxury and relocation clientele.
